Gone Fishin'

Friday afternoon we all went fishing down at the river. The weather has been so nice so we wanted to get outside and do something. We loaded up the car with fishing poles, worms, crickets, and the dogs! Here are a few pictures from our little adventure.

Happy Birthday Brad!

We Celebrated Brad's 25th Birthday on the 3rd of this month. He had a great birthday! He has been wanting a grill for a long time now so his parents and I went in together and got him the "mega" grill. It is both a gas and charcoal grill. Needless to say he loved it! We also all went out to dinner at Red Lobster to celebrate...it was yummy! All in all he had a great Birthday and is happy to be a quarter of a century old.

Brad and Tim putting the Grill together.

The finished product!

And of course the traditional Peanut Butter Cake. Brad's Favorite!

The Nesting is Kicking In!

Well I couldn't wait to go out and buy little boy clothes! Surprisingly they DO make really cute baby boy clothes! I was anxious today to clean out Adalynn's closet so I have a place to put Brody's things too. You have no idea how excited it makes me to look in her closet and see a blue side and a pink side! Now that I have the closet cleaned out I'm looking forward to getting the rest of the room fixed up. We have to paint the walls, (they're pink now..I don't think Brody will like that!) put up a toddler bed, make decorations, make quilts for their beds, and put it all together. Good thing I have about 5 months to do it all! I'm already starting to want to nest, so I'm just going to work on a little at a time.

A Mother's Intuition...

Well the verdict is in...and it looks like my mother's intuition was spot on this time! It's a Boy!! We are so excited to know what we are having! We can now say Brody instead of "it" or "the Baby".

Now I'm having fun researching all the fun things I want to get/make for this little boy! After spending the day fighting with Adalynn to keep her cute bow in which eventually she destroyed...it makes me very happy I don't have to worry about making bows and keeping them in for two little girls! Boys are looking pretty good to me now! I think Adalynn is going to be a great big sister..bossy...but helpful! She went with us to have the ultrasound done and she talked about the "baby" the whole time and was even singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to him.(I'm sure he loved it!)

I'm excited now I can feel little Brody move and kick...little bity kicks! I can already tell some differences in this pregnancy than with my last one. I started feeling Brody kick sooner than I did Adalynn I guess cause I know how it felt this time. I also have had a ton more heartburn, headaches, and pressure with this pregnancy...he is already causeing me trouble! Thats how come I knew it was a boy I just hope the trouble stops when he come out!

We are all really excited to have Brody part of our family and we all already love him so much! Now the countdown begins till he is here! But we are in no hurry! I now have to get boy stuff..clothes, blankets, burpclothes, bedding...luckily when we got stuff for Adalynn we got all the big stuff in neutral colors!

One Week Away!!

We are so excited to find out next Monday if the newest member of our family is a boy or a girl! I think we have come up with our predictions..Brad says Girl and I say Boy...Adalynn hasn't made up her mind yet :) We have decided on two names...Boy...Brody Cole and Girl...Brinley Paige. Right now I'm 18 weeks along and it has flown by! The weeks definitely fly by much faster the second time! I'm hoping they slow down after we find out what we are having!

Picnic at the Park

Saturday morning we woke up to a nice day so we went to Dale Co Lake to walk the dogs and have a picnic. We all had a great time! Here is Adalynn enjoying her apple on our picnic. She loves to be outside!

We brought the dogs and of course they loved it! But were ready for a rest while we had lunch.

A Yummy Dinner!

Yesterday I was looking for some new recipes to try this week, so I always go to the Food Network website to find new ideas and I came across Garlic Spaghetti. It seemed pretty easy to make with very few ingredients. I made it and it turned out Great!! It was pretty yummy!! It tasted gourmet! I will make spaghetti this way from now on!

Here's the recipe...(I cooked some chicken to eat with it and cooked it in some of the garlic olive oil)

Garlic Spaghetti
Recipe courtesy Melissa d'Arabian
Ingredients
9 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup olive oil
6 tablespoons butter
1 (15-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 pound spaghetti, cooked al dente
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
Grated Parmesan, for garnish
Directions
In a small saucepan, cook the garlic in the olive oil for 30 minutes on low heat. Stir occasionally to keep the garlic from drying out. In a medium saucepan, add the butter and tomatoes, and stir until well blended and the butter is melted. Stir in the garlic oil and season with salt and pepper. Allow the flavors to meld for 10 minutes. Toss with the spaghetti and serve garnished with basil and Parmesan

In addition to making this spaghetti I also tried a new dessert recipe that I saw on the Food Network the other day. It was a Chocolate Pecan Pie. I've never made a pecan pie before so I didn't know how hard it was going to be ...but it turned out way simple and so delicious!! You've got to try it!

Here is the Chocolate Pecan Pie Recipe....

Tony's Chocolate Pecan Pie

1/2 cup mini milk chocolate morsels
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
